
Once
the utility representatives have marked their underground facilities using flags
and/or paint, it is important for the excavator to respect the marks indicating
the presence of an underground utility.
Excavation should be carefully performed only after confirming that all utilities have marked the location of their facilities. Remember that the locating of underground utility lines is not an exact science. The marks will indicate the approximate location of a buried facility. Use caution and dig with care. Hand digging is required within the Tolerance Zone.
