JOLIET, ILLINOIS – Representatives of the Joint Utility Locating Information for Excavators (JULIE, Inc.) recently named Dale Kuhn as Damage Prevention Manager for Central Illinois. He is responsible for implementing public safety and member outreach campaigns and promoting the use and growth of JULIE, Inc. between member facility owners and operators and excavators in Illinois. “Dale has extensive experience in the utility industry with a proven ability to work with professional excavators, community officials and representatives of member companies and municipalities,” said Kevin Chmura, director of public relations at JULIE, Inc. “We are very excited that he has joined our team.” Prior to joining JULIE, Inc., Kuhn served as the executive director of the Illinois Municipal Utilities Association (IMUA). He also served as general manager of the White County REMC and executive vice president of the Coles-Moultrie Electric Cooperative. “Excavators with questions about the JULIE system or interested in scheduling a safety meeting are encouraged to contact Dale directly at 217-698-0813,” Chmura continued. JULIE, Inc. (Joint Utility Locating Information for Excavators) is a not-for-profit corporation that provides professional and non-professional excavators with a toll-free number (1-800-892-0123) for the free locating and marking of underground facilities. JULIE serves as a notification service for underground facility owners, taking information about planned excavations and distributing this information to its membership. It is then the responsibility of each facility owner to mark the location of their underground facilities at the excavation site. JULIE neither owns nor marks any underground facilities. JULIE, Inc. promotes an easier, safer digging environment and serves the entire state of Illinois outside of the city of Chicago, which is covered by DIGGER. Established in 1974, JULIE represents over 1,750 members. For more information, visit www.illinois1call.com. |
