JULIE’s Damage Prevention Managers are available at no cost for safety presentations at your facility or job site. Featuring vital information on safe digging in Illinois, damage prevention, the JULIE locate request process, common marking terms, and state law, presentations and construction site meetings can be tailored to meet the specific educational needs of your company or group, whether you’re excavators, underground utility line owners or the general public.

Positive Response

Starting January 1, 2026, all member utility companies will be required by law to respond to locate request notifications via JULIE’s Positive Response System. To prepare for this, JULIE is offering several training opportunities.

JULIE Essentials Online Training

JULIE Essentials virtual training sessions for excavators, out of state excavators, locators, and members are packed with critical information on safe digging. Courses are available any time you are and can be accessed from your desktop computer or from your laptop, tablet or smart phone in the field. Each segment zeroes in on distinct content to focus your attention, and you can start and stop as your schedule allows. Handy interactive tools guide you through the information and resources are available to download. You’ll receive a certificate of achievement upon completion.

Remote Ticket Entry Training And Videos

Remote Ticket Entry (RTE) is a free, self-service program that JULIE offers to excavators working in Illinois who want to enter and submit their own locate requests. RTE is a web-based application that can be used with any Internet browser. A FREE 90-minute online training is required to use RTE.

To sharpen your RTE skills, JULIE has created a series of short videos illustrating ticket entry techniques and tools used during the ticket entry process. This library is intended to be a resource for all RTE users and Windows Media Player is necessary.
