Once you become a JULIE member, you have access to a variety of tools and a wealth of knowledge that when used properly can enhance safe digging practices throughout Illinois. What can you do to keep JULIE processes running smoothly?

Actively Communicate

  • Read all correspondence and distribute information to your teams as needed.
  • On the annual summary form mailed out each fall, confirm and your contact information, hours of operation and holiday closures, sign and return it to us. If information changes during the course of the year, let us know in a timely manner.

Maintain An Up-To-Date Database

Educate Yourself And Your Teams

  • Learn about best practices and JULIE processes with our JULIE Essentials online training courses. They’re free and available whenever you are.
  • Essentials courses are approved for IEPA Water & Wastewater training credits.

Understand The Billing Process

  • JULIE’s billing cycle runs July 1st through June 30th of the following year.
  • Annual assessments are mailed in September and invoices are mailed in January.
  • Review your billing statements for accuracy and forward all financial correspondence to the appropriate departments.

Follow The Steps To Locate Underground Utility Lines

  • Receive locate request tickets for utilities within your service area.
  • Mark utilities by the due by date on the ticket.
  • Post responses in the Positive Response system immediately.
