PROMOTING JULIE IN YOUR COMMUNITY

Awareness of the critical JULIE service continues to grow, and you or your organization can help spread the message! You can protect yourself, your family, your community or your business by letting your neighbors or customers know about how important it is to notify JULIE before any digging project, regardless of size or depth. It is a free call and service.

To help promote the importance of safe digging in the state of Illinois, education and safety materials are available at no cost.

HOMEOWNERS

  • Bring information about the one-call process to your next community event or Homeowner’s Association Meeting (HOA) to make sure your neighbors know to notify JULIE before digging.
  • Pass along the JULIE logo to your HOA for use in its newsletter during times of year when digging activity is high, like spring and summer.
  • If your community or local schools plan digging activities, such as tree or flower plantings, notify JULIE at least two business days before the project.  Share education materials with your neighbors and students.
  • Follow us on Facebook and Twitter @JULIE1Call. Share our posts and tag us when events and activities include notifying JULIE first.
  • Spread the word about how easy it is to make the call to JULIE at 8-1-1 to keep your community safe and connected to critical utility services!

BUSINESS OWNERS

  • Incorporate JULIE information or the JULIE logo into your existing promotional information.
  • Promote JULIE in your office and on your equipment.
  • Contact one of JULIE’s Damage Prevention Managers about receiving safe digging trainings for yourself and your employees at least once a year. Remember, state laws change, and JULIE is the best resource for the most up-to-date information about how to dig safely and within the confines of the law.
  • Speak to your customers about the one-call process and make sure they know to call even for digging projects they complete on their own.
  • Follow us on Facebook and Twitter @JULIE1Call. Share our posts and tag us when meetings, events and activities include notifying JULIE first.
  • Spread the word about how easy it is to make the call to JULIE at 8-1-1 to keep your community safe and connected to critical utility services!
